Awesome awesome awesome. Thanks a bunch, Mike.

And THANK YOU, ETTY! I love you and miss you, over here on the east coast.

"They have the future in front of them and they’ll always associate Jane’s Addiction with that good feeling. So Perry will never compare to the Perry then. Not because he is a lesser person or a lesser artist; because he could never replace that feeling that generated at that specific moment in time."

That's beautifully stated. Very very nice.

I'm glad to hear that 2008 holds the promise we all knew it would.

Nice one Mike - good question to finish on... fair play to Etty for replying honestly. I know it's all about opinions and i'm cool with that, but she's spot on with her reply about the haters having a dig at SP and her role in SP - why keep going on about it, if you hate it, don't buy it. Simple really. Maybe i'm naive or something for liking almost all (if not actually all) of Perry's output... perhaps i should long for Jane's like a lot of people do, but I honestly do take something positive out of all of his work, including SP. Do i care that his wife is in the band... fuck no, why would i? I don't mind her voice at all and, on a simple level, she's looked damn fine every time i've seen them live.

Excellent interview Handsome Mike... looking forward to the next one which will obviously include killer details about the forthcoming box-set and a heads up on new SP material and details of a UK tour........ ;)

Some of the things that I've read on this site are as ridiculous to me as they are to a lot of you, but after thinking about it, I feel the need to say my piece, since everyone else wants to interject their opinions, I will now do the same...
Etty is such an eloquent speaker. She must be such a strong woman in both her personal life and her business life to face the world as an icon's wife. I mean Perry really is an icon.
I love her response to the days of yesteryear and how everyone longs for those days...I'd like to add that not only is it that people long for those days past, but, it's usually those that failed to grow up in the first place that long so badly for their younger years (because they view themselves as failed adults...whether they know it or not). They also seem to be the Jane's Addiction fan, versus the Perry Farrell fan (not that I don't LOVE Jane's because I do...but everyone needs change). I am a Perry Farrell fan. I feel that as he has progressed through the years, so have I. His music will inspire me until the day I die, no matter who is in the band with him.
I feel that those that are not in love...whether it be in love with someone else, life, the earth, themselves...whatever...then in no way, shape, or form will they ever get Satellite Party. The music exudes love! It is an amazing album and I just feel sorry for those that can't connect with it.
I feel sorry for those that are so close minded that they feel that the members of Jane's Addiction must stay that forever??? Don't you people ever move forward in life and change???
Perry seems to have moved into a place of solice in his life. You would think that anyone that was a fan of his would rejoice in the happiness he has found.

Etty said exactly what has always been in my head...she said,
"He would say he has never been happier in his entire life and all those people who wish that he was how he was nineteen years ago don’t care very much about him as a human being."
I agree with that sentiment!

Some of you had read that I had presented him with a necklace this past summer. I never shared with this site what the necklace resembled and why I made it because I felt that was a personal thing...but in lieu of all the negativity surrounding Etty I must share it because not all of us have disdain for her.
I named the piece "the Cantor's Clutch" (Perry of course representing the Cantor). The piece was made of 3 hand-made beads...2 orbs (1 large representing Perry, and 1 small orb representing Etty), and a third tube bead to represent their children, and all that is good within the universe. I feel the same as Mike, that without Etty coming into Perry's life, we the fans may not have him around. Not knowing either of them, I can only say what I feel from my observations, but I feel that Etty has brought much solice and peace into Perry's life. Not to mention she has given him 2 beautiful children. Why would you negative creeps find it necessary to try and diminish her? It's ridiculous.
Anyways, thanks again to Etty for taking the time to answer some questions. I hope that the negativity doesn't stop her from doing more interviews!
