Damn that really blows.
I'd hoped and prayed that Eric would be OK.
My condolences go out to the De La Cruz family.
Seldom does anything good come from a senseless death but this may be one of those rare occasions.
I imagine Eric's sister Veronica will continue to rail against a broken health care system that worries more about its bottom line than it does the health of those it was created to help.
I wish her luck.

The health care in this country is absolutely atrocious, and the pharmaceutical companies and health care industry, with their legions of lawyers and lobbyists, have been batting 1.000 against us for something like 40 years. They ALWAYS get what they want (i.e. no single-payer system, no universal healthcare, no OPTIONS).
We're the ONLY western first-world country not to have some sort of government health care plan option.
The dollar reigns supreme in the United States, not the well-being of its population. It's horribly sad, and Eric's case is just one example of millions and millions.
I encourage you all to see "Sicko" by Michael Moore.
Our system is broken and it needs fixing.
