I'll be honest I saw this movie years ago and totally forgot about the Jane's connection.
I've read several posts here and elsewhere asking where the clip is from.
If you don't already know the movie is called "The River Wild".
It stars Kevin Bacon and Meryl Streep.
The scene Jane's are using is when Kevin's character and Joseph Mazzello the boy playing Meryl Streep's Son first meet in the movie.
Kevin is wearing a 1991 Lolla hat and the boy asks his questions.
You can find out more about the movie and watch the trailer here if you're so inclined.

And seeing as we live in this wondrous world filled with technology here are links for the pertinent clips from the movie.
Watch this one from about 7:50 on.

Yeah I think it's a bad ass way to start the show!ESFOS wrote:too cool man.
I'm sure there are a lot of folks seeing Jane's for the first time that feel exactly like the kid in the movie.
All the visuals I've seen so far have been really cool.
The clips that are popping up on youtube are awesome but I can't wait to see it and take it in first hand.

I remember seeing the movie and thinking "FUCK YEAH THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT JANE'S ADDICTION!"
That was like what ... 10-15 years ago?
Seeing it open their set is pretty cool actually. lol For just that reason. I might have to see that movie again. It wasn't terrible as I recall. Or maybe it was. I totally don't recall, actually.

Kevin's definitely not playing a nice guy in it to say the least.
As far as who put the video portion of the show together?
I don't know but I can remember Jane's having some excellent visuals going on during some of their shows during the original run.
Perry has had some cool stuff projecting during recent Satellite Party and solo shows.
Also when Eric was doing Polar Bear I've heard the visuals were a big part of the experience.
I just think that Jane's have the talent and creativeness to have put it together themselves or at the very least given direction for what they wanted.

A show of hands.
How many out there are feeling like that poor little kid right now?
I'm glad I went to every show I went to last year.
But I'm even happier I took my Son with me so he'll never be that kid.

This video has been removed due to terms of use violation. wish i could see so i could comment on your question refering to our kids. movie seems twisted so id need the clip. i take my 10 year young daughter to festival shows now to intergrate her into the music scene though. those shows are more diluted with family awareness.
