JOHN VARVATOS AND STILLHOUSE CELEBRATE A DECADE OF JOHN VARVATOS AND THE LAUNCH OF ORIGINAL MOONSHINE
September 1, 2010 - New York, NY – Prohibition Is Over! John Varvatos and Stillhouse® are joining together to celebrate John Varvatos’ 10 year anniversary and the highly anticipated launch of Original MOONSHINE® Clear Corn Whiskey with an unforgettable rock concert at 315 Bowery, during New York Fashion Week in support of VH1 Save The Music Foundation. ZZ Top will headline along with many other special guest artists that are featured in John Varvatos’ Fall 2010 ad campaign. Although this is an Invite-Only event with “Prohibition Is Over™” as the tag line, not much will be forbidden once granted access.
This September John Varvatos and the Varvatos family are celebrating 10 years. Over the past decade, the brand has grown on numerous fronts and each one has served to set John Varvatos apart from other designers. Varvatos comments, “I am most proud of my team and their accomplishments in not only establishing the brand, but giving it a unique voice in this ever changing industry. This 10th anniversary celebration is about friends and family; bringing together legendary artists, friends who have given us support along the way, and of course Rock’n’Roll.”
The 10 year anniversary ad campaign, which was released this Fall, reflects the Friends and Family that Varvatos speaks of; a collage of musicians and artists from Perry Farrell to Iggy Pop that make up the John Varvatos family portrait. As part of Varvatos’ 10 year celebration, the bash will feature ZZ Top, Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, and Glenn Hughes, among others from the campaign, to perform at John Varvatos’ 315 Bowery store, which formerly housed the seminal-underground music club CBGB’s. It is expected to be a flashback to the speakeasy era and the ambiguous music scene of the punk era rolled into one unsurpassable evening.
Original MOONSHINE® Clear Corn Whiskey is poised to redefine the premium spirits market with its Fall 2010 debut. This handcrafted, premium clear whiskey combines the historic flavor and attributes of the moonshine of eras past with a modern-day smoothness and accessibility.

He also serves on the Board of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation and has dedicated activities around the 10 year anniversary ad campaign to benefit the New York based nonprofit whose mission is to restore instrumental music education in America’s public schools.
