Demo version that is...
it is beautiful...
this one has more instrumentation.. and a little surprise at the end for nerds
yup its also on janes first record called "one hit is all it takes" .. this version is cool tho .. dig the singin and "san francisco" at the end sounds great ... sooooo i guess that makes me a nerd
I listened to this yesterday and here is my super-brief response:
*Vocals pretty good. A little plain, but inoffensive and fairly good at capturing the pitch and tone of vintage Farrell, albeit without all of the magic, or a number of distinguishing details.
*Don't dig the way the word "you" from the line "I would for you" is repeatedly sung as "you-o-ou." It's fine a few times, but I think it's more direct and effective when it's just a slide from one note down to another, without the rise in the middle.
*Production is nice.
*Sticking some Desconstruction at the end was a neat touch.
Jimmy, Jasper is a pretty cool guy and I'm sure he was only giving you some honest criticism.
I wouldn't get upset or angry about it.
When you put your work / art out there not everybody is gonna love or hate it.
Me personally, I like it and I appreciate you sharing it with us.
