Satellite Party - Ultra Payloaded Advance CD Review:
-------------------------------------------------------
1. Wish Upon A Dogstar
Studio VS Live - LIVE
You've all heard this already....
In a sense, the culmination of PF's gothic leanings wrapped up in a catchy dance package.
Love this song personally, even if it sort of kills it when Fergie shows up...bass line sticks with you...
2. Celebrate
Studio VS Live - Studio
For whatever reason, PF's voice sounds a bit worn on this one. The backing vocals from the live show is a full chorus group here to great effect, also instrumentation a lot more of a funky 70's vibe over all. Definate Improvement.
3. Hard Life Easy
Studio VS Live - Draw
Piano intro attempts to come off like Mike Garson (Bowie) but falls flat. Definately sounds more like a Chili Peppers track in it's studio incarnation.
Sort of generic to me....Indifferent...could have been a b-side for me
4. Kinky
Studio VS Live - Studio
Can definately hear the Hybrid guys work on this one...extremely danceable
strange atonal starting guitar solo - Nuno's creativity rears it's head
Strong Track indeed.
5. The Solutionists -
Studio VS Live - ??? - this version over the old one...
Revolution Solution reborn....still has funky Indian vibe, stronger realistic bass line, nice compliguitar work...Shaft inspired strings...
Nice chill out track....
6. Awesome
Studio VS Live - studio
segues from The Solutionists.. full string treatment, still the cheezy romantic anthem, feels more like an old U2 track here (meant in a good way) or even a P4P track (Tonight...)
can really hear Etty on parts of this one
7. Mr. Sunshine
Studio VS Live - Studio
Another dancy one...PF doing a weird deep voice style...
tense vibe...
could have been a b-side for me
8. Insanity Rains
Studio VS Live - either's good for me...
another you've all heard already -
finally a break from the mellowness of the 3 previous tracks makes it stand even more....up tempo...rocking...PF rocking in a way he hasn't for awhile...
9. Milky Ave
Studio VS Live - studio
another slower one...nice...poppy Cure guitar feel (Kiss Me-Disintegration-Wish singles)
10. Ultra Payloaded Satellite Party
Studio VS Live - studio, the live one isn't quite there yet...
last one that everyone's heard...
feels right as the last track/end of album proper..
don't know why someone is reggae style rapping on parts of this.....
11 Woman In The Window
the epilogue: MANTRA
spacey intro..PF vox...JM comes in...down tempo overall...
sort of cool that this track exists, but what it's doing on here I have no idea...
----------------------------------------------------
i'll give it 7/10....couple of tracks seem out of place...
overall, a nice spacey (reverb heavy) funky 70's film vibe.
certainly (for me anyway) the strongest PF effort since Ritual....

Nice review innerturmoil.
Thank you for taking the time.
Hard Life Easy is my favorite so far although I really like Kinky.
I like the piano intro for Hard Life Easy.
What Bowie song are you referring to?
I don't see it.
