I prolly put way too much thought into this. but I had some ideas on the "Great Escape Artist" concept/symbolism.
but the idea that the character's posture could represent a Straight Jacket is interesting.
And if the jacket is a binding device to keep people controlled.
"nosotros tenemos más influencia con sus hijos que tú tiene" Seeing that Santeria was a big part of that past maybe that's the straight Jacket in the Music? and Perry is beyond and outside of that.
:?:
"Great Escape Artist"

And an ironic twist of fate. (Xiola dying) The Juju Kha (spelled right?) influence on the record and cleansing reasons for them on there. is interesting.

Who knows I just know as passionate as I am about Jane's Addiction the past few years have been tortuous to watch.

Good job escaping! Much love.

who is the artist?

yup well 4:20 or even better 4:05 .. in my neighborhood ..

i wish the escape artist poem was actually the indesciferable portion of the 3 days poem .. there should be a pfp sticker on the amp or guitar and maybe a certain message board up on the computer screen .. ahem

Is Perry trying to escape from his 80's persona?

Modeling his Caricature on the ritual Perry and setting it in his 80's flat would suggest so.
The new single also suggests that!!!

damn this cover art is gorgeous and very prominent! Awesome and very fanciful retrospective. Do you have any rumours about the vinyl version of the album?

I like it! Anyone strain their eyes trying to read the words in the journal or am I the only dork who will admit to it? ;)

 now that you mention it... the right page is easy

"Filled with excited images. No memory of the mundane. Super happy!! Supper pissed!! The great escape artist!!"

The left page I can make out a couple of words here and there. Looks like it starts out "I played tricks"

The multi-colored poster in the back corner is from last year's Cinco de Mayo show at the Bardot. The one next to it is familiar. Pretty sure it's an original era one, but which one I'm not sure - nothing jumps to mind right away.
