Re: The Great Escape Artist - Album Art
Looking at my original TIFF image, i'm able to make out what the right-hand page in the book says:

I think it says:
Filled with
excited images,
no memory of
the mundane.
Super poppy!!
Super pissed!!
The Great
Escape
Artist!!
__
I can't tell what the left-hand page says.
(Though the first sentence appears to be, "I played decks." A reference to his DJing?)

"supper poppy" doesn't really make sense to me
here is the book rotated and zoomed
definitely looks like "supper happy" to me.

Yeah, "super happy" makes more sense.helicine wrote:"supper poppy" doesn't really make sense to me

That's what i thought it was originally, but... then, on the image i was looking at, the "h" at the beginning of happy didn't look like the h at the end of "with". (Comparing letters from different words.)
But... now i can see that it's because "Happy" begins with a capital H.
I never imagined it'd be capitalized.
Anyway, i posted before i read helicine's post.
(His interpretation makes more sense that mine.)
If there wasn't moderator approval, i would have immediately deleted my post, to avoid embarrassment.
But i had to wait until morning to see it.
(I've been off the bboards for so long, it's gonna take me a while to get used to that delay.)

No big deal - it's just a 3-post process for new accounts to keep spammers from flooding the forums w/ ads. Actually, had I known your account was still tagged as "new", I'd have fixed that. Anyway, you're set now.

That makes more sense that you moderators having to approve EVERY post.
(I've been off the forum for so long, i might as well be "new".)
Regardless, i think i can live with the embarrassment of having read it as "Super poppy!!"

I think that's a safe bet.jays addiction wrote:Is Perry trying to escape from his 80's persona?
Modeling his Caricature on the ritual Perry and setting it in his 80's flat would suggest so.
The new single also suggests that!!!
Kinda underwhelmed with the artwork though, considering...

“With a bracing combination of metal, punk, and psychedelica, coupled with lead singer Perry Farrell's banshee-in-a-wind tunnel vocals”...

Re: The Great Escape Artist - Album Art
just noticed that the masks that are in the box on the floor under the desk on the album cover are like the same ones they are wearing in this part of the video for ETTL(just click on the link and the video starts where I'm talking about ) just an observation
