I can definitely understand thinking it is overproduced if you feel the same about NS and Ritual - but again, you're kind of implying most studio recorded material is overproduced. I can appreciate that concept, but when you look at overproduced studio work, I just don't think TGEA falls into that category.
Maybe I hear more or different pop music than you, but again TGEA sounds more like a modern rock album than a pop album. If they had added in some autotune and an 808, and then you'd have a good argument
